The U.S. is Canada’s closest neighbour and largest trading partner. The two nations share roughly $630 billion worth of annual trade. Moreover, they have strong cultural and historical ties. The Canada-U.S. relationship matters a great deal, affecting both country’s economy and politics.

Given its importance, the Canadian American Business Council (CABC) hosts an annual event where the best minds from each country analyze the state of the relationship. Notable officials such as Chief Trade Commissioner of Canada Ailish Campbell, Small Business, Export Promotion and International Trade Minister Mary Ng and many more attended the event, offering insight into how the new Liberal government can continue to renew the relationship with its North American partner.

Gary Clement, chair of the CABC board, made the opening remarks, and Mercedes Stephenson emceed the event. Ajay Banga, President and CEO of Mastercard, was honoured with CABC’s 2019 Corporate Leadership Award.

Prospectus Associates has a number of clients who are members of the CABC, including CAE, Lockheed Martin and CN. Bill PristanskiRob Evershed and Bruce Hartley were at this year’s CABC event. All three of them have over a decade of providing Canadian government relations services to both domestic and international firms.
